  • You do not have to read the first book to enjoy this one. A quick rundown: Jimmy has been having some issues and Eddie has taken it upon himself to dry Jimmy out. Jimmy had always been a heavy drinker, but lately as things changed around the Jbar he had gotten worse and the timing was terrible.

    The story started out with a bang. The first line had me. And dam was it hot… and made me have a few questions about Jimmy.

    I liked them together too I know that sounds contradictory to what I just said , but I wish they had all three felt the same about stuff. Eddie and Jimmy had been friends and working partners on the ranch for fifteen years. Don was a great guy who Eddie had been seeing for years as a friend and lover, but Eddie was in love with Jimmy. As to the connection to the first book, I would definitely recommend reading them in order as I know pretty much how the first story went down and several things that probably would have read better in context.

    I usually catch stuff like that, but got in a hurry because it was cowboys and this author. In retrospect, I might have done myself a favor. In this way, I had no preconceived notions and could just go with what I had in front of me. A blogger I know read the series in order. I started with book two. Toggle navigation.
